A leading division of a globally recognized bank needed to access 60 TB of document archives from Mobius ViewDirect, after purchasing lines of business resulting from a major bankruptcy. The archives were spread across five Mobius instances and had to be distributed to interested parties; at the same time, the bank also wanted to automate extraction utilities in IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD).
The Xenos Enterprise Server’s ECM Migration functionality allows organizations to consolidate and convert data from disparate formats to contemporary systems. Xenos ECM Migration was chosen because it was able to eliminate any risk to the new business owners, while providing all of the necessary historical transaction documents. Also, since Xenos was already in place in other areas of the bank it was able to respond rapidly to the request.
Throughout the process, Xenos participated in the project as a “Trusted Advisor” – providing staff and technical resources, and functioning as an extension of the bank’s internal team to provide leadership and direction. The batch migrations were implemented on schedule and in order of priority, and were distributed in document and report form to six different organizations globally.
Xenos Enterprise Server provided resolution to archives locked away in Mobius Striped PDF files as well as BUSTEC devices, delivering content based on Mobius Versions in Excel table entries, accessing AFP print streams and EBCDIC Line Data to achieve the task at hand. Content was loaded into IBM CMOD and the file systems in a single pass, allowing the bankruptcy to proceed on schedule.
