Course Description

Distance Learning is the web-based delivery vehicle for Actuate technical training.
In our Distance Learning classes, students remotely attend our regional classes. Distance Learning students will see and hear the instructor's presentations, participate in class discussions and can share their desktops with the instructor when needed. Students receive the course materials and instructions on how to join the web session the week before the class start date.

When attending a Distance Learning class, the student will need access to a phone for the audio portion of the class and an internet connection. In this class, students build an iHub cluster. To do this remotely, students will need access to 2 PCs that are networked, and the students will need to have administrator rights on both machines.

This course teaches students to use the BIRT Server web-based Management Console and Configuration Consoles to manage customized reporting systems. The course focuses on the installation, configuration and management of the BIRT Server in both standalone server and clustered server configurations. After completing this course, students will be able to schedule report generation, manage reports in a report encyclopedia, manage users, connect to various data sources and manage the Report Encyclopedia.

Each student receives a comprehensive course manual, which functions both as a workbook during class, and as a detailed reference guide once the class is completed.
