Actuate's Collaborative Reporting Architecture represents a breakthrough in business intelligence by bringing technology and the principals of open source development together in rich internet applications (RIAs). These applications can be deployed on Actuate’s RIA-ready platform and handle any size or level of system and data complexity, including interactive web reporting.

Actuate, a co-sponsor of the Eclipse Foundation Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (BIRT) project, provides report creation tools and deployment options through which BIRT-based report designs can be shared among highly skilled application and report developers, power or business users, and end users or consumers. This participation across producer, user and consumer communities fosters a progressive report development process and environment, speeds development and encourages adoption of the applications.

Two communities, One Technology

BIRT-Exchange is designed for report developers, application developers and Java enthusiasts—everyone who touches the software.
