As part of the Practice Based Commissioning (PBC) scheme for the NHS, all Primary Care Trusts are expected to provide standardized financial and activity information and benchmarks for all services covered under Payment by Results and Prescribing. pbviews provides the facility to deliver all the information required by General Practices in order to understand their financial and clinical activity.
With pbviews the PBC information is easily viewed over the web, utilizing a traffic light system to provide an instant visual understanding of performance. This is complemented by a comprehensive dashboard function showing trends, indexed performance and benchmarking information for each measure.
“Prior to implementing pbviews we were struggling to meet information requirements for Practice Based Commissioning to all of our 54 GP Surgeries,” said Scott Watson, Performance and Commissioning Manager, Sunderland TPCT. “Through the use of pbviews, we have now automated much of the process and are not only saving time and resources previously devoted to data collection and dissemination, but we are also confident we’re now delivering on the information requirements to support Practice Based Commissioning.”
In addition to their use of pbviews to support their PBC initiative, Sunderland TPCT are also leveraging pbviews to collect and deliver all Annual Health Check information to senior executives, giving them a high-level view of their organization’s performance.
“The demand for performance information in NHS organisations is increasing in 2006 as we begin to collect the data required to support the Annual Health Check,” said Watson. “pbviews is the best package we have seen with regard to recording, monitoring and improving organisational performance against the standards and targets outlined in the AHC.”
“By leveraging pbviews’ robust Performance Management functionality and deployment options, Sunderland TPCT is now able to provide the required financial and clinical information, both internally to their senior executives, and externally to their Practices, in a timely, reliable manner,” said Steve Fluin, Vice President, Worldwide Sales, performancesoft Inc. “We are pleased to be working with Sunderland TPCT to support them as they strive to manage and improve performance.”
