OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – May 24, 2004 – ReportingEngines(TM), a division of Actuate Corporation ACTU and leading provider of embedded enterprise reporting toolsets for J2EE environments, today announced the first pure Java reporting toolset for BEA WebLogic Portal(TM). Now generally available, the Formula One e.Report Engine supports the delivery of any kind of report through BEA WebLogic Portal and complete analysis of BEA WebLogic Portal user metrics. Companies can now generate dynamic analysis of portal marketing campaigns, track portal usage and identify customer service issues related to the portal.
"Formula One addresses two key reporting needs for our WebLogic Portal customers," said Dan Tortorici, senior product marketing manager for BEA Systems. "WebLogic Portal developers can immediately add value to their applications by delivering finished reports and charts from any data source through the WebLogic Portal framework. Additionally, the ability to analyze WebLogic Portal log files gives our customers key metrics critical to analyzing BEA portal campaigns and traffic."
Access Any Data Source, Deliver Any Report
BEA developers can use the Formula One e.Report Engine's point-and-click report designer to visually access XML, JDBC and other data sources and design simple to sophisticated reports. Finalized reports are packaged within and delivered from BEA WebLogic Portal through portlets or JSP without the use of an external report server.
Analyze BEA WebLogic Portal User Events
The Formula One e.Report Engine is also the only Java reporting tool to provide native access to the complex BEA WebLogic Portal event and behavior tracking data tables. BEA developers can now quickly determine vital user metrics about their portals such as user traffic patterns, most and least popular items, and response rates to marketing campaigns.
Flexible implementation and unlimited use pricing
BEA developers can use the Formula One e.Report Engine as a highly integrated, certified extension within the BEA WebLogic Workshop development environment or as a set of JAR files that can be used with any Java IDE. The Formula One e.Report Engine is available for US$4,995 per license which allows one developer to build an unlimited number of reports for an unlimited number of users on one physical BEA WebLogic Portal regardless of CPU.
