San Mateo, Calif. – March 18, 2014 – Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The BIRT Company™ and the leader in personalized analytics and insights, today announced that Linda McDaniel, EDP, Senior Solutions Architect / Product Trainer with Actuate’s Content Services Group (formerly Xenos), will present at Xploration® 14 (Xplor), the Customer Communications Conference, running from Tuesday, March 25 to Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Orlando, Florida. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend general sessions, networking events, a vendor forum and the keynote presentation, and can also choose from more than 60 educational sessions organized within five Tracks: Data; Industry Applications; Regulations, Compliance and Disaster Recovery Planning; Technology; and Best Practices.
In Actuate’s session, McDaniel will discuss ways in which document design affects PDF accessibility. McDaniel will also discuss the Web Accessibility Guidelines and ADA requirements, detailed regulations that dictate PDF accessibility. Additionally, she will cover document design considerations as demonstrated by recent financial industry efforts to make credit card and bank statements accessible to vision-impaired customers.
McDaniel will be available after the session to demonstrate Actuate’s PDF Accessibility Solution, a patented software tool that automates the end-to-end process of creation, storage, remediation and delivery of high volume accessible content.
