SYDNEY – February 12, 2014 – Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The BIRT Company™ and the leader in personalized analytics and insights, today announced the opening of an office in Sydney, Australia. Established to better serve Actuate’s customer base in the region, the new office reaffirms the company’s commitment to further strengthen its customer relationships in Australia and New Zealand.

Through the Sydney operation, Actuate will deliver its full range of developer and end-user software – including its self-service advanced analytics solution, BIRT Analytics™ -- as well as the recently launched BIRT iHub 3™, an infinitely scalable platform for designing, managing and delivering reporting, analytic and customer-facing applications. BIRT iHub 3 is used by developers and embedded by hardware and software OEMs to simplify the creation and deployment of large scale applications. BIRT iHub 3 enhances the ability of developers and OEMs to securely serve personalized insights, at any scale, to millions of customers both inside and outside their organizations.
Additionally, Actuate’s Customer Communications Management (CCM) solution has been significantly extended through the recently announced acquisition of legodo ag – a German company that develops software for easy and rapid generation of personalized customer correspondence via any communication channel, including mobile touch devices. Legodo’s software is one of the first to allow organizations to tap the information embedded in their existing Salesforce.com, Siebel/Oracle, SAP, Sugar CRM, and Oracle CRM On Demand to create truly personalized customer communications.

Highlighting innovative implementation of BIRT in the enterprise, Actuate recently named one of its Australian customers, Mobis Parts Australia Pty Ltd (MPAU) – a Hyundai and Kia supplier – as a 2013 Excellence Award Winner. MPAU (a Carrington Associates’ customer) was recognized for their innovative use of BIRT as a BI solution to monitor sales performance and pricing offers from its vendors. MPAU relied on Actuate’s BIRT dashboard to deliver personalized insights of the users’ sales performance. With the help of Actuate’s Interactive Viewer, users were also able to easily modify their report templates based on their individual and departmental needs.
