Collaboration between Actuate and MongoDB in response to popular demand from the community of more than three million BIRT developers
San Mateo, Calif., November 7, 2013 – Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The BIRT Company™ – and the leader in personalized analytics and insights, today announced an alliance with MongoDB, the company behind the synonymous open source NoSQL database used by organizations of all sizes to keep up with demand for unstructured Big Data management. The collaboration will enable developers to apply Actuate’s secure and scalable analytics capabilities to the document-based MongoDB environment. A popular choice for dynamic queries, MongoDB stores data using a BSON (Binary JSON) data interchange structure for data storage and network transfers. To facilitate the use of the two products together Actuate now offers a MongoDB Open Data Access Plugin for BIRT.
“We’re pleased to partner with Actuate, extending their analytics capabilities to our large developer community,” said Matt Asay, Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Strategy at MongoDB. “MongoDB is popular with developers because of its ease of use and stability. In addition to data visualization enabled by BIRT, MongoDB enables search and retrieval across a large number of transactions for Big Data implementations.”
