In addition, Actuate has introduced an improved BIRT Hive Driver to make data access from Apache Hadoop into BIRT even easier.
The announcement is the latest in Actuate’s ongoing relationship with Hortonworks, a leading contributor to and provider of enterprise Apache™ Hadoop®. The BIRT Apache Hive Driver utilizes Hive queries to access data from Hadoop, pulling data sets into personalized and interactive BIRT-based visualizations. Actuate presents data in a managed analytic environment, where it can be scaled across a vast number of users in a secure and controlled manner and delivered on any device, anywhere.
