European Business Process Optimization Specialist Complements ActuateOne & BIRT with Financial Services Industry and Public Sector Solutions
San Mateo, Calif., - October 24 , 2011 – Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: BIRT), The people behind BIRT® and the leading open source Business Intelligence (BI) vendor, has announced a strategic alliance with European IT Consultancy (EITCO) GmbH, a Berlin, Germany-based, full-service systems integrator and technology reseller specializing in business process optimization.
The alliance will see the two companies offer joint, industry-specific solutions for the public sector and the financial services industry. EITCO will resell ActuateOne, Actuate’s BIRT-based commercial BI platform, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where it has a strong track record for consulting and systems integration services. By integrating Actuate BI and reporting capabilities into its BI practice, EITCO will provide additional value for its customers, increasing their return on investment.
The relationship is already bearing fruit. In a project for a leading German asset management company, Actuate and EITCO have provided a single, integrated solution for evaluating fund risks and analyzing performance data. The solution unifies heterogeneous data sources, enabling them to be accessed and meaningfully analyzed through a user-friendly, BIRT-based interface.
Commenting on the partnership, Nobby Akiha, Senior VP of Marketing at Actuate Corp, says, “Actuate’s customers, particularly those in financial services and the public sector, will benefit substantially from this new relationship. The combination of EITCO’s industry knowledge and the power and flexibility of ActuateOne will enable organisations to quickly deploy solutions that meet critical business needs in these important markets.”
One of EITCO’s unique differentiators is eKID, a customizable application example it has developed for government organizations and local authorities, enabling them to combine and analyze data from e-participation portals and social networks with existing statistical data. eKID enables organizations to calculate and visualize everything from childcare trends to forecasts and budget predictions at a glance. The solution can be adapted for a range of requirements and users.
“Working with Actuate and BIRT we are now able to further expand our approach to Business Intelligence and data visualization,” comments Johannes Schabel, Head of BI at EITCO. “Customers will be able to import their data from various data sources with our solution, and scale their BI applications with ActuateOne to any size they want.”
