Actuate to Host ActuateOne Focused Customer Days in 5 International Cities

Customers and Partners Including City of Chicago, Johnson Controls, Taleo Corporation and Open Source Data Integration Leader Talend to Participate at Customer Days Focused on ActuateOne

San Mateo, Calif. – September 29, 2010 – Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTU), The people behind BIRT® and the leading open source Business Intelligence (BI) vendor, today announced that registration is open for Actuate Customer Days.  With the resounding success of last year’s series of free, one day events, Actuate is once again hosting a series of similar customer days in 5 cities.  Attendees can choose from a wide range of business and technical sessions, product demonstrations, and customer case studies and will learn about the latest BIRT and performance management innovations from Actuate.  The customer days will be held in New York, October 27, San Francisco, November 3, Paris, November 9, London, November 10 and Frankfurt, November 11.

Attendees will receive an update from Pete Cittadini, Actuate’s President and CEO, get a peek under the hood of Actuate’s product road map, and gain in-depth knowledge of ActuateOne. There will be many examples of BIRT applications, demos and tips.  Actuate will honor the winners of the annual Actuate Excellence Awards, which recognize customer innovation using BIRT, Performance Scorecards and spreadsheets.  And last but not least, the customer days will give attendees an opportunity to network with their peers, Actuate executives, BIRT experts and the BIRT community at large.

ActuateOne: Product Update and Roadmap
ActuateOne takes Information Applications and Business Intelligence to a new level with over 70 significant new capabilities and hundreds of other enhancements. In this fast paced and demo-oriented session, Actuate will showcase how you can meet a wider range of your user needs with Actuate release 11 –including the new BIRT 360 dashboards and BIRT Data Analyzer capabilities. The session also examines new deployment options, including support for cloud based deployments and Elastic Clustering and wraps up with a discussion on the Product Roadmap.

The Cloud Revolution and ActuateOne
Many IT organizations are looking to do more with less, while searching for ways to satisfy growing infrastructure demands. Private and public cloud computing provide the means to meet both goals. This session will take a look at the cloud computing revolution and the new features in Actuate release 11 of the BIRT iServer, including industry leading support for cloud based deployments.

Deploying Next Generation Business Intelligence with ActuateOne, BIRT 360 Dashboard
Whether it is delivering critical information at a glance or enabling users to visually drill down into more detailed data, Dashboards present the best option to conform to how users work. In this session, attendees will learn to create and deploy a wide range of Dashboards using ActuateOne, BIRT 360. Through a series of examples, this session will also introduce the product, its architecture, application and best practices.

Migrating e.Reports to BIRT:  Why, When & How
With the flexible and powerful user experience provided by ActuateOne and BIRT, many customers are asking how to migrate some or all of their e.Reports to BIRT. This session answers the key strategic questions about migrating e.Reports to BIRT and recommends best practices. The practical tasks, tips and tricks for the best possible transition are also presented.

Our Spreadsheets Are Better Than Yours
Because a majority of business use Excel® extensively, the omnipresence of spreadsheets in the enterprise is a given.
