NASCO Achieves Significant Savings with Actuate and BIRT

San Mateo, Calif. – November 3, 2009 –
Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTU), the people behind BIRT™, today announced that it has awarded a 2009 Excellence Award for Performance Management to NASCO,  a leading healthcare claims and membership solutions provider. The Actuate Excellence Awards recognize innovation and impressive return on investment among Actuate customers and BIRT users.   NASCO is being honored in the “Return on Actuate” category specifically for achieving a measurable impact and value from Actuate and BIRT.

NASCO turned to Actuate and BIRT for a cost-efficient, flexible, robust reporting solution with proven scalability that could work with any data warehouse in their membership department.  The measurable impact and value realized by NASCO with its Actuate and BIRT implementation entailed developmental cost savings of approximately 50% per report over its previous solution.  Additionally, NASCO was able to reduce time to roll-out of new reports, expand premium billing service with new clients because of the richness of the Actuate solution, deliver rich interactive reports with more information on demand and scale the solution as its business grows.
